I wanted to call on the purifying & timeless properties of water to show how resources will flow out of white supremacist systems, and become a foundation for building black futures. The river represents a holistic self-replenishing resource that is more valuable than money, because investing in black futures requires more than just a financial investment.
The community is lively, surrounded by butterflies, bees, and plant life. This policy point has an emphasis on wellness, environmental justice, and family justice, so I wanted to show the abundance that will result from investing in black life, joy, and prosperity.
